QU-BD Two Up – X-belt mounting

Posted on June 23, 2014 by Ianmcmill

While putting together my Two Up 3D printer I did not want to glue the x-axis belt to the extruder head so it could be removed easily later on. I used two small zip ties to connect the extruder head to the belt.

This worked out well at the beginning but at some point it seemed that those zip ties loosened itself because I experienced a growing jitter on the x-axis in my prints.

I then decided to remove the ties and do the super glue wunderwaffe. This eleminated all the jitter on the x-axis. With a razor blade I hope to be able to remove the belt one day if I decide to print a new extruder. (Once I get all the settings right in Repetier-Host).
